Bree – Swimwear Photoshoot

You might think it’s counter intuitive to shoot swimwear and bikini photography in the middle of winter, but on the right day it can work out nicely.

Winter in Sydney is a lot colder than I am used to. Coming from a warm tropical climate in Durban, South Africa, where the winter days only really get below 25°C when there is a big cold front pushing through.

Sydney on the other hand is mostly below 20°C, below my personal comfort level (which is around 25°C). The thing I do love about winter in Sydney is the light. The sun sits low in the sky for most of the day, and isn’t as harsh as the summer sun, meaning you can shoot some great summer style shots near the middle of the day and still get some gorgeous golden light without having to wake up super early and freeze for the next few hours.

Bree spent two hours on a train to come down to Sydney from Central Coast to do this photoshoot, and spends most of her free time on the beach or in the ocean, so a little bit of chill in the air was nothing to her.
